Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 17, 2026
Paperpai OS records learning activity to help users replay, review, and improve study sessions.
What We Collect
- Handwriting data, including stroke coordinates and timing
- Audio recorded during learning sessions (when recording is enabled by the user)
- Transcripts derived from recorded audio via on-device speech recognition
- Review items, summaries, and AI-generated learning artifacts
- Basic account identifiers needed to sync data (email, display name)
How We Use Data
- To store and replay learning sessions
- To align handwriting, audio, and transcripts on a timeline
- To generate review items, summaries, and study insights via AI analysis
- To let users export or delete their learning data
- To provide teachers with aggregated (non-identifying) class performance data
What We Do Not Do
- We do not use learning data for advertising
- We do not sell learning data to third parties
- We do not enable cross-app tracking
- We do not share individual student data without explicit consent
Data Storage
- Session data is stored locally on device by default (SQLite)
- When cloud sync is enabled, data is stored on our servers for backup and multi-device access
- AI analysis is processed through third-party AI services (GLM/Zhipu) — only session statistics and transcripts are sent, not raw audio
User Controls
Users can:
- Export a single session archive
- Export all local archives
- Delete individual or all local session data
- Apply retention cleanup to remove expired data
- Disable cloud sync at any time
Children and Schools
If Paperpai OS is deployed through a school or institution, additional consent and data handling terms may apply. Schools are responsible for obtaining parental consent where required.
